Biography: The pioneering rap artist helped establish the American west coast gangsta rap sound as part of N.W.A. and later as a solo artist. He then went on to become a successful actor in film and on TV.
Ice Cube formed N.W.A along with Dr. Dre, Arabian Prince, and Eazy-E, releasing their debut album "Straight Outta Compton" in 1989. Ice Cube left the band just a year later and began a successful solo career with such albums as "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted" (1990) and the concept album "Death Certificate" (1991).
In 1995 Cube formed the hip hop group Westside Collective with Mack 10 and WC, releasing their first album "Bow Down" in 1996.
Cube made his film debut in John Singleton's "Boyz in the Hood" in 1991 and went onto appear in a number of critically acclaimed films including "Trespass" (1992) and "Three Kings" with George Clooney (1999).
