Lizzo Corrects Paparazzo Misgendering Demi Lovato

Since Lizzo’s rise to fame, she has received hate related to body image on social media, and has always clap-backed at haters. This time, she’s speaking up as an ally in the best way possible. It’s no surprise that she responded sternly to paparazzo to ensure Lovato’s safety as a non-binary person.

When a swarm of paparazzi surrounded the singer, one asked, in reference to Lovato:

“Have her team contact your team?”

To which Lizzo iconically replied: “Their team, Demi goes by they.”

When Lovato saw the video, they were quick to share, writing: “@lizzbeating you f*cking queen I love you 😘 thank you 🥺🙏🏼 ”

Lovato on Journey to Find Authentic Self

Earlier this year, Lovato announced their non-binary identity, along with their preferred pronouns.

They made this announcement on Instagram saying: “this represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression, and allows me to feel the most authentic, and true to the person I both know I am, and am still discovering.”

Lovato is not letting any hate get in the way of who they really are. It’s great to see other celebrities advocating on behalf of Lovato. People like Lizzo are going to help Lovato feel comfortable in the public eye. Which, is the key to Lovato living a comfortable lifestyle with her new gender identification.

Lovato has been extremely authentic in the past year. Releasing YouTube, and podcast series discussing her struggles with addiction, self love, and everything in between. We’re happy to see them become their most authentic self, and even happier to see other celebrities like Lizzo standing up to Lovato’s haters for her.
