American Idol Season 20 winner Noah Thompson has released the official music video for his debut single “One Day Tonight.” The romantic clip shows a couple dreaming about their future together before getting engaged.
Noah Thompson Debuts ‘One Day Tonight’ Music Video
The music video for “One Day Tonight” depicts a couple sitting in the back of a truck sharing a bottle of wine and talking. This story is intercut with shots of Thompson sitting beside train tracks and strumming his guitar as he performs the song.
“She wants a wedding in September, save up all winter / Spend our summers in a fixer-upper in Denver,” he sings on the chorus. “She wants a girl and a boy and an old dog named Ol’ Roy / Lord, I hope this old boy can give her that life.”
The video ends with the couple getting engaged, as the man gets down on one knee and surprises the woman with an engagement ring. The final shot is of the two of them holding hands in the back of the truck.
Thompson released “One Day Tonight” during his time on American Idol last year. He later released a duet version of the song with Season 20 runner-up HunterGirl. They performed it during Season 21 of the show.

Thompson Released an EP Earlier This Year
In June, Thompson released his debut EP, titled Middle of God Knows Where. The project features the title track, as well as “One Day Tonight” and four other songs — “She Gets It From Me,” “Us No More,” “Make You Rich,” and his cover of “Stay” by Rihanna.
Thompson has now put out several music videos for the songs on the EP. Interestingly, the videos feature the same fictional couple. Some of the clips are happier than others, which gives videos like “One Day Tonight” a bittersweet feel.
